Our Love is on the Right Track

A great sentiment for Christmas, but also a romantic song & video for you all, the first from my new "solo" music and video project.

Hope you enjoy it. And please pass it around...

I originally wrote the song to just a hand-clappping accompaniment - like one of those old plantation work chants from the old American South - but it worked it's way up through a rock and roll version into the bluesy feel it now has.

I always felt it was a song about a journey, so trains seemed ot be the right idea for the video. The video backdrop is the train from downtown Bangkok to the airport and the tram scenes are in Turin, Italy. The keyboard, bass and guitar hands are mine, shot in Perth in Oz.

Christmas in Loa: Luang Prabang & Vientiane

It’s always around 40 centigrade for Christmas here in Oz, and never seems quite the place to celebrate Christmas especially with fake snow around the windows, so I thought I’d treat you to another odd place to have Christmas – Lao.
Not only is it a jungle out there, but it’s also a strongly Buddhist country. Still, they obviously don’t mind popping up the Christmas Trees along the Mekong River in Luang Prabang or the odd reindeer and Santa Claus in downtown Vientiane.

I particularly like the Lao version of what goes on top of the Christmas tree – clearly Christmas is all I about giving, so mine’s a pint of that, thanks.
